This course is structured over five levels:

Level 1: This level teaches fluency in letter recognition (singular and joint form) of the Arabic language. This will be covered in lessons 1 to 3 of the text.

Level 2: This level will cover sounding of letters with correct point of articulation (makhaarij) for the three vowel types (fatha, damma, kasrah). In addition, the application of tanween, madd and leen will be taught. This will be covered in lessons 4 to 9 of the text.

Level 3: This level focuses on the application of shaddah, sukoon and shaddah combined with madd. These topics will be covered in lessons 10 to 16 of the text.

Level 4: This level reviews all of the above concepts to further embed them into the learner’s long-term memory. This is done under the final lesson, lesson 17, to complete the text.

Level 5: This level eases the child into reading from the Noble Quran. The last 10 surahs are recited with reference back to the text to ensure rules have been understood.

The full Quran (30 ajzaa) is recited by learner to teacher. This is split into the below 5 levels. As the learner progresses through each level, the pace of learning quickens and more ajzaa are included in each level. This division has two key advantages. Firstly, it allows the learner to achieve key milestones more easily at the beginning of the course so that the self-confidence of the learner is built. Secondly it allows the teacher to focus on accuracy of recitation at the beginning of the course, rather than speed of recitation, so that correct tajweed and makharij are established in the learner.

· Level 1 – Juz 1

· Level 2 – Juz 2 to Juz 5

· Level 3 – Juz 6 to Juz 10

· Level 4 – Juz 11 to 20
